Vedic Maths Class 8

Vedic mathematics is called Vedic because of its origin from Vedas. It originated from the fourth Vedas, i.e., "Atharva Veda". Atharva Veda deals with the multiple branches of science like Engineering, Mathematics, and all other sciences.

It introduces the arithmetical computations included in class 8 and gives the multiple tricks for solving number calculations of finding squares, cube and cube root, multiplication, division of higher numbers.

Vedic Math Tricks

Some sutras are used for solving multiple calculations which were previously introduced. These Sutras are known by their unique names.

Square of Number for digit 5

For example, find the value of (55)²

Step 1: Multiply end terms

65×65 = (..25)

Step 2: Multiply the unit place value with (value+1)

6×(6+1) = 42

The answer will be 4225.

Multiplication of 3 digit numbers

For example, find multiple of 307 and 309.

Step 1: Subtract the unit place value from the actual number.

309-9 = 300

307-7 = 300

Step 2: Now select any number from both values and add the unit value of other numbers

309+7 = 316

Step 3: Now, multiply the values we got in step 1 and step 2, i.e., 316×300 = 94800

Step 4: The unit value of both numbers is 7 and 9; the product will be 7×9=63.

Step 5: Add both values; 94800+63

The answer will be 94863.

Like these, Vedic maths includes various tricks for performing multiple calculations on the tip of the hand.
