Vedic Mathematics Class 10

The Vedic mathematics for Class 10 is derived from its origin Vedas. The Veda is a Sanskrit word meaning to know without limit. Therefore, it covers all Veda-Sakhas that are known as humanity.

The Rishis (ancient Hindu Scientists) of India have led 16 Sutras (Formulas) and 120 words which laid down the simple steps for solving all the mathematical problems in an easy way of 2 or 3 steps.

Use of Vedic Mathematics

It solves complex problems in two or three lines. It can be used effectively to solve factorization, algebraic equations, multiple simultaneous equations, quadratic and cubic equations, partial fractions, Pythagoras theorems, and many more.

Sutras of Vedic Mathematics

The students of 10th class will be solving calculations using different Sutras, including Ekadhikena Poorvene Sutra, Sutra Ekanyuneva Purvena, Sutra Urdhva Triyak, Sutra Urdhva Tiryagbhyam, Sutra Nikhilam, Sutra Prawatya, Sutra Dhwajanak and a lot more.

An example of multiplication is using sutra urdhva triyak.

Q. Multiply 362 × 143

For solving this, 5 groups will be formed

V IV III II I

2 3 6 3 6 2 6 2 2

Performing cross multiplication

= 1×3 / 1×6+3×4 / 3×3+6×4+1×2 / 6×3+4×3 / 2×3

= 3 / 18 / 9 + 24 + 2 / 18+8 / 6

= 3 / 18 / 35 / 26 / 6

= 3 / 18 / 37 / 6 / 6 (35+2)

= 3 / 21 / 7 / 6 / 6 (18+3)

= 5 / 1 / 7 / 6 / 6 (3+2)

The answer will be 51766.
